Ingredients

  • 2 Slices Kingsmill Bread
  • 1 McQueens Dairies Free Range Eggs
  • 3 tbsp Milk
  • ¼ tsp Cinnamon (Optional)
  • ½ tsp Vanilla Extract (Optional)
  • Butter or Oil
  • Maple syrup, honey or fresh fruit

Instructions

STEP 1 - Whisk the mixture

  • In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, cinnamon and vanilla until smooth.

STEP 2 - Soak the bread

  • Dip each slice of bread into the mixture.
  • Let it soak just enough to absorb the liquid — but don’t let it go soggy.

STEP 3 - Fry until golden

  • Heat butter in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Cook each slice for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.

STEP 4 - Serve warm

  • Top with maple syrup, honey, berries, or a dusting of icing sugar.

Serving Ideas

  • Crispy bacon & maple syrup
  • Fresh berries & icing sugar
  • Greek style yogurt & honey
  • Sliced banana & peanut butter
  • Cinnamon sugar

McQueens Top Tip

  • For extra richness, try using whole milk for the soak — it gives a creamier texture and deeper flavour.
